whew
in 24 hours i've lost a job and gotten a new one. one of my friends got my back and offered me a job at a paralegal firm for $25 an hour and flexible hours for the fall. I'd only have to work two 8-hour days to make up for the money i'm losing from the job i lost. i also sent my resume to 8 schools yesterday and got a response just now from lanier middle school, a school less than 10 minutes away from me, saying that my name will be distributed to the violin and viola students. I emailed the orchestra director back asking if i should come out there and teach after school or if they should just come to my house..it'd be nice to teach from home, actually. but it would also be nice to teach during school..I don't know if that would be possible but i could at least see. still, I feel a lot better about this now. and, with my new practice regimen (45 minutes of scales and about 12 etudes working on different techniques) i'll be a rock star player by the end of this summer and will probably be on the sub list for houston symphony. it sucked losing the job, but as the saying goes, "one door closes, another opens." in this case maybe many doors open.
it's going to be a busy summer, but i think it's going to be a good one.
oh yeah. i will be in chicago from july 23-28 with gary, so we're going to raise hell. plus, i'll be in st. louis from august 13-19. yay for going to new places :).
