A problem in the works

Grace let her head fall forward with a sign as she hung up the phone. It seemed there was a problem at a hotel out in Tokyo that would require a visit to sort it out. As well as a phone call to her father and brother to at least appraise them of the situation, though preferably for them to come with her.

"You look stressed, my Gracie." Jude's voice was soft as he leaned over the couch and rested his hands on her shoulders.

She leaned back into his hands and tilted her head up for a kiss. Jude kisses always made things more bearable. "There's a problem out in Tokyo," she murmured softly after the kiss.

Jude moved to settle next to her on the couch. She was tugged into his side, his arm wrapped securely around her waist. "How bad of a problem?"

She rested her head on his shoulder and looked up at him. "How's your Japanese?"

He gave a soft sigh, "It's probably a good thing then, that the band manager I was supposed to meet with tomorrow rescheduled to next week."

"Thank you, Jude." She hugged him tighter. "I need to call Daddy and CJ too."

Jude hugged her back, though her words stiffen him a little. No one that grew up watching CJ torment Audrey liked him all that much. "That bad?"

Grace nodded. "There's a guy claiming to be part of the family out there...looking for ownership rights since he's a Bass. The people running the hotel know well enough to question it and called me. He's being detained by the police until we get there." The Bass family doesn't take it lightly when someone tries to impersonate them.

He leaned down and kissed her hair, "When do we leave?"

"As soon as Daddy and CJ get here to refuel the plane before heading to Tokyo." The easiest path for the three of them is for Chuck and CJ to fly the plane to LA, refuel and pick Grace up, and then head to Tokyo. She still has to call him, but she's sure her father will want to find out just who is claiming kinship. She also knows that while she can't trust her brother for much outside of to be an ass, he's good with the business. It's always been the one thing he seemed to be able to work with his family on without snide comments, at least to their face.

Jude pulled them up off the couch because Chuck and CJ won't take too long to pack, especially not with a problem like this. "I'll start packing for us while you call them."

She stopped them just inside the bedroom and pulled him down for a kiss, "Thank you, Jude. For everything."

He kissed her back and smiled at her when he pulled back, "I'm here for you, Gracie. Always."

"Always," she murmured back with a smile. She settled into the comfy chair in their bedroom so she could watch Jude move around while she called her family. Not because she was worried about what he would back, she knew he'd pack well if he packed for her, but because she liked watching him move.
