I had a lovely hour to myself walking around Gunnersbury’s Park in the rain yesterday. I really didn’t mind the rain in the least even if I had no hood and only a light weight coat. It wasn’t very cold out, and the rain was fast falling but gentle, I love the feeling of it falling onto my head, getting my hair wet, and the feeling when it lightly taps my face. I find something very smoothing about it.
The park was very quite yesterday. I love time on my own when I can get it. My mood is much improved by the simple beauties of nature. While I was walking around the park I decided to take some general shots of the park with my camera, simply because I felt like sharing images of a place I like to go, it's not fancy but it is a really nice park to me.
Even though you will find me moaning a lot about the fact I live in London and how built up it is, recently I’ve realized I am quite lucky really, there are plenty of cities without the green spaces and parks that London has. Also, I’m lucky that so many streets have trees planted along them (not every city has this). Maybe some people don’t notice the trees as they drive or walk by, but I certainly do, I’m glad they are there. Though I'd still rather live in the countryside!
I think it’s very important for people to always be grounded, in touch with the natural elements, I think these things help make us better people, I think animals do that too. We are a part of nature ourselves, though a lot of us seem to want to move away from that. I think if you take nature totally out of life you also take the soul out of people.
Random Park Photos
It goes without saying the Park looks much better in the hight of spring with lots of flowers, clear skies, and so on...

This swan was so friendly, came right up to me, and hanged around for a good while with his or her partner. Shame this photo is a bit burly. I had just hurriedly wiped rain from my camera lens. I have lots of clear Swan photos I took yesterday, will put those in another post I think. :-)

This dog ran up to me, I think in the hope of seeing Oscar. She often greets him.
