Times long gone
I went into town today to buy some magazines, then I went to a small museum, which was very nice. I saw photos of what West London looked like back in the Victorian era up until the '30s. Interesting talk by Jonathan Haidt
For a long time I've liked both UK Liberals and UK Conservatives, as I think both have ideas worth paying attention to. When I'm up at night and have nothing better to do, I enjoy watching videos I find on the internet.I came across this old vintage video last night. Mr Willis is disarmingly charming because he is gruff in demeanour but in actuality he is surprisingly sensitive and thoughtful. Maybe I am a bit crazy for finding this video nice? I was watching The Matt Lucas Awards on BBC the other week, in the first episode the award was given for the worst football song ever. The only problem was, when I heard the song I thought it was blooming marvelous. But according to the people on the show it sucked. Two more for Animal Aid's Horse Racing Death Index
I turned on the news tonight to see that two horses died today in the grand national... WAS IT WORTH IT? Only 15 of the 40 horses completed the full course without falling over on the jumps (suffering unnecessary distress as a result), seems like those safety improvements clearly weren't enough.
