Harry took his first trip to the cinema yesterday.
He's been going to the theatre since he was 6 months (3 times so far, once more in April) so I thought he might be okay to sit through it. We went to see Chicken Little, and went to a afternoon weekday showing where we knew there wouldn't be many people. Infact, till about 1 min before it started we WERE the only ones there!
At first he wasn't sure, so Daddy explained that it was just like a big TV.
He spent the first half of it alternating between me and Dale, sitting on our laps, and leaning back against us being snuggly. Then he sat up more, but still wanted to be on our laps. He started to get a bit restless about 10 mins before the end so I thought that was pretty good going at 25 months.
And the bonus is that we didn't need to pay for his ticket! McDonalds are doing a free kids ticket deal at the moment, and even though we didn't want him to eat a Happy Meal, paying £1.99 for it was cheaper than paying £4.60 for a cinema ticket (can you believe that he has to pay the same as me when I use my NUS discount?). So I went into McDonalds and asked if I could pay the £1.99 but just have the box and not the actual meal itself (explaining that I wanted the cinema ticket). They said that they wouldn't charge me for a box and just gave it to me. Result!
