Episode Thoughts: Supernatural 4.03 In The Beginning
I need to watch it again to get all my thoughts in order, the last 15 or so minutes is Holy FUCK! Yeah that's the only words I can come up with. I may be more coherent after another watch-through. I'll edit this post to reflect that... 'Cause right now, I got nothing.

The casting dept did a Kick ass job casting Young!John and Mary!! That boy could be JDM's younger brother/son. Amazing.

Watching Dean try to talk to his dad was hard. It's amazing how much of the 'hunter' is in him. And how much easier it was for him to deal with Mary's family. Speaking of Mary: She is one Tough Broad!!!!! Loved that.
Loved that he was basically responsible for getting the Impala. If he hadn't come along John would have gotten the freakin' van. That made me laugh.
Sam isn't looking cause he's busy fucking Ruby!!! HATE HER!!!!!
Mary apologised to Sam in 'Home' cause of what she had done in the past. Making the deal. Poor Mary.
I love that Dean still has the Journal.
They used 'Ramblin' Man' PERFECT song for this episode. I love that John knows Star Trek. and that he and (Rick?) the diner guy were all *SadFace* over Sonny and Cher breaking up. I LoL'ed over that.
How much (if any) of this episode was 'in homage' to Back to the Future. Names of places? People?
I love how Earnest, and (like Samuel said) naieve John is here. So Freakin' Sweet. The shocked look when Dean realised that Mary is the Hunter was Priceless.
The way he stumbled over 'practically family' was guh heart-wrenching.
Dean killed me when he realised that he'd just given EVERYTHING up to the YED. he's gonna carry that guilt FOREVER. Poor Dean.
Then Mary making the deal anyway... Broke my heart.
The YED is one SICK Fuck!! Using her fathers body to 'Seal the Deal'... Beyond Fucked up.
