Congratulations!

Sorry I didn't make it out to cheer you along too, I had a bad night last night and couldn't get up in time.

Excellent work. That's a brilliant time too. You must be amazingly proud of yourself. You certainly should be mate. Well done.

I am indeed very pleased with the result. I am slightly concerned that I let my first run be so good, and now will have to try even harder to improve on it! But yes, I couldn't have hoped for any better.

Are you planning to do another half marathon next year? I need to get in shape myself.

Next year will be triathlon year (I've already signed up for London Triathlon), but I'll certainly be doing the odd run. One possibility for me will be the Truro half marathon, as that'll be a good excuse for a family visit, but I'm currently undecided.

Let me know if you do decide to sign up for anything, I'll see if I can come along.

My next race is Hell Runner which will be quite a different event!

If you can do a half-marathon in 1:42 after a heavy week's holidaying, I'm guessing I won't see you for dust at Hellrunner! Good effort on your PB.

Thanks :-)

Hellrunner is a very different experience tho'. You'll need proper trail shoes, clothing that won't get heavier when wet or snag on anything, food for before and after, something warm to wear after too. Oh, and to be slightly crazy...

Do you have any recommendations for clothing? I have some Snow+Rock base layers that I use for skiing, I'm assuming something similar is what is wanted here.

I was basically thinking I'd have to chuck all my race clothes in a waterproof bag for the journey home.

Hadn't thought too much about food, it must be said.

I think just signing up for this was a sign of sufficient craziness, having seen the photos from last year, but we'll see!
