So,
nisaba bought me sailing lessons in Sydney Harbour for my birthday. Apparently if I don't post about it, it didn't happen! Oh noes!
The weather really smiled on me - while Brisbane weather was pretty much amazing the whole time (it was a bit overcast for a couple of days, and it did rain while we were in Sydney), there were only two really amazing days weather wise in Sydney, and those were the two days I was sailing!
While the sun was out, there wasn't so much wind unfortunately, but there seemed to be enough that we rarely had to use the motor - I think the first morning was a bit too calm at times, but other than that, we had enough wind.
I relearned a lot about sailing (I learned how to sail dinghys for a week when I was 15, but I'd since forgotten quite a lot of that!), and generally had a fabulous time on the water, sailing around from the Spit to close to the Opera House.
I've definitely got the bug, so I'm planning to get Competent Crew qualification, and maybe even Day Skipper, prior to the wedding - probably over the course of a few weekends, rather than having to take too much time off work.
