Today I learned that
a wonderful woman I used to work with, Linda Kennedy, is dead. She was smart and dedicated and she loved her dog and she cared about poor people. A lot. When I knew her, she'd already had breast cancer for a couple of years, and it had just metastasized to her bones. After six years of living with cancer, she is gone. She was only 43.
We only worked together for a few months, and after she left my office I didn't stay in touch the way I could have. That's SOP for me, and this is not the first time I've had cause to regret it. But putting aside me and my petty issues, she was a truly good person who changed others' lives for the better, and she is dead. And the wicked prosper.
True judge, my ass.
