Hinata Yakushi

On Sunday I went for a walk at Hinata Yakushi in Isehara with some friends! We pretty much did the same as for our new year's get-together last year, going for a walk to some temples and getting hotpot at the Kurhaus mountain hut! But this time we met up a bit earlier, so we had the time to visit some more temples and also use the onsen at the hut :3

The weather was cloudy with a bit of rain, but thankfully it only rained just as we got on the free shuttle service from the mountain hut back to the bus stop (they'll drive you for free if you spent enough money xD) so it didn't really affect the trip.

Ancient trees at the approach to the main temple... It kinda reminded us of Togakushi in Nagano, but for whatever reason tourists haven't discovered this place yet... It was so empty, it could do with a few more visitors...

Climbing...

My friend got us all some Yagi-san monaka, so we took a break at the resting area to have them with some tea :3  (Not sure what they had to do with goats though, they're not actually made with goat milk or anything...? Just sold at a farm where they keep goats)

We also got some cute snake omikuji, and I got a suekichi yet again... ^^;

The pagoda at Johotsuganji is always scenic... It was open today, too!

Cute statue

Roubai (plum) blossoms were blooming at Sekiunji temple! You could smell them from a distance away.

Sekiunji temple main hall

Old bridge... Not sure where it actually leads, haven't had the courage to try crossing it xD

Mountain hut! (the vending machine is a godsend when you're coming down from Oyama on a hot day...)

It was empty, so we could sit wherever we wanted... The fireplace is so cozy!

We were planning to just get wild boar hot pot (two pots for the four of us - because one for three people last time was a bit little), but the menu announced that they also started serving venison shabu-shabu, so we got one of each! I'd never had venison as shabu-shabu before, but it works really well!

Wild boar hotpot with spicy miso soup :3 :3

Yaaay~

After getting to the bus stop, there was still about an hour until a bus would come, so we walked by the goat farm and some vegetable shops...
Jingisukan

It was pretty late in the day though, at 4PM there weren't that many offerings left at the shops. (other than these giant sweet potatoes...)

Then at home we had nabe again for dinner! xD We found mutton at the supermarket, it was meant to make Jingisukan according to the package, but it was really yummy for nabe as well!
