Oyama in spring

It's a new season, so time to go to Oyama again xD Last time I went, I think it was... February? when I stayed at the pilgrim's inn. So it felt really different now that there were leaves on the trees again :3  It was the first day of the Golden Week holidays, so expecting crowds at the summit we decided to climb from Minoge and descend to Hinata Yakushi, so that we'd at least have a quiet trail for the first and last parts of the hike.

The old road from Hadano to Oyama was perfectly peaceful early in the morning :3  Only when we approached Afuri shrine we started seeing some other people

Little climb with a chain...

At the shrine...

People climbing up the stairs behind the shrine... We went up the steep trail to the summit because my friend wanted to take the challenge xD It was pretty crowded, so we mostly just stayed in line at a slow pace. Although, most people got tired partway through and stepped to the side, but we just kept going at a slow but steady pace until we reached the summit

Pile of rocks on the way

On the wider parts of the path the crowd thinned out

Yaay~  With all the lines of people climbing I expected the summit to be entirely packed, but it wasn't so bad~ There was no line to take a pic with the summit sign, and we found a bench to sit and eat our lunch.

Butterfly on the path

Found some mountain sakura! My friend was sad she was just too late to see them, so I'm glad we still found some :3

Azaleas everywhere still, too

When we took a break at Miharashidai, this little lizard was chilling on a log beside us without a care in the world :3

Descending to Hinata Yakushi, this bridge at the very end is probably the most interesting part xD

And the pagoda on the way to the bus stop *-*

These buddhas were still wearing masks

Peaceful road~

We still had some time until the bus, so we had a peek at the Hinata Yakushi temple itself, too

The recently restored wooden roof was still pretty

Koi in the pond :3

Yesterday we went shopping in Ikebukuro, I took a few pics there, but I'll leave those for later~
