I have two weeks of class left and then one week of finals.
I still have about five books to read for my Ernest Hemingway paper, two articles or other sources to find, a general topic (his passion for bullfighting) that I need to narrow down to a more specific thesis, and the 4000 word research paper to write. That's for American Lit. I have two (relatively) short papers to write for World Lit, both 1500 words each. My assigned paper is about the Woody Allen short story "The Kugelmass Episode" as a parody of Madame Bovary. My optional honors paper will use three sets of poems to compare William Blake's two poetry books Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. I've read everything I need for the Kugelmass/Bovary paper, I just need to write. I have to pick the poems out for the Blake paper, then write it. The second draft of my first original play for Creative Writing is due on Wednesday. I got a 98 on my first draft, to my surprise, so I'm not too worried about the actual grade, but I do want to write a better play this time around. I have this new draft plotted out and I have tonight and tomorrow to actually write it. The second original play is due next Monday, and I have a lot of that plotted out already and I'll use this weekend to write it. The slides for my Media presentation are due tomorrow, so I need to do those tonight. I'll have to check on the timeline for my proposal for Professional Writing class. I have a topic, but I know I'll have to do a bit of research to back it up, and then write out all four pages of it.
So basically my life is a lot of homework right now.
There are a few nice things happening, though. Thursday night is the awards banquet for the student worker award the library is giving me, and Friday is student worker appreciation day where they'll bring us lunch. I'm seeing my high school's spring musical, Anything Goes, on Friday too. Aidan's birthday is next week. We're nominating and electing new APO officers, and I'm running for VP of Fellowship. APO is having an end-of-the-year picnic next weekend, and maybe going to the City Museum. Valley of Flowers is coming again. And hopefully I can visit my grandparents for Mother's Day. It is a stressful time right now, but I'm not a complete wreck.
There was a huge storm and tornado in St. Louis on Friday, and while my house suffered no more than the usual basement puddles that show up when it rains, the weather affected some of the internet connection at school. I don't have internet connection in my dorm for the time being. I should be fixed soon, but until then, I'll have to sneak on when I'm working here at the library.
