I'm just throwing up my hands and laughing at this point.

During the summers, my day-to-day life is pretty dull. I sleep in, scrounge the kitchen for lunch, never get out of my pajamas, and spend a lot of time on my computer. But sometimes I go out and have adventures and sometimes hilarity comes to me.

1. Yesterday afternoon, Purple David invited James and I to Cici's Pizza buffet for dinner with him and some friends. I didn't know or was only loosely acquainted with the other people, but we had a good time, mostly because we were planning an epic party. Tubby Tom is coming back from Washington state to visit for a few weeks, and David is hosting his homecoming party. Ideas included a crown, a Christmas tree with presents just for Tom, a bellydancer, an adult bouncy castle, jousting, a haunted house in David's basement, an indoor skate park, and lots more insanity. Then we all went to the Party City next door and discussed making it a costume party on top of all that, and also what we would choose for wall decorations (Spongebob) and balloons (champagne bottles and dinosaurs).
If this party is half as great as we imagine it, it's going to be the greatest party ever.

2. My friend Steve the filmmaker left this comment on my Facebook wall: "Hey Melissa, I know you like the A team, so do these clips from the movie stay true to the show and the characters? I'm especially curious as to your thoughts about clip 2 with Murdock." I've never seen an episode of The A-Team. I have no idea why he thinks I'm a fan. I don't even know who Murdock is. I don't know how to answer this. Do I tell him he's mistaken or find myself some A-Team episodes online and make myself an expert in an hour?

3. My friend Stephen the actor just signed on to a play where he has to appear on stage naked. I'm strangely proud of him. I have no idea what the play or role is, but in my mind, naked parts are only for the best actors, and he's getting paid. So I'm happy for him. But I don't know if I actually want to see this play.

4. My cousin Jack apparently got married. I need to talk to my relatives more often.

epic, out and about, parties, theater, wtf, friends, family
