((OOC: Post set for this week. Not to be confused with the backdated ones we're working on for Laurian's rescue, hence the more cheerful attitude.)) ^_^The seasons are always changing, with the rainy seasons and the dry seasons, the windy seasons and the seasons for various plants. But the changes in New Hampshire were more drastic than what

Walking carefully and gracefully among the flowers Shizuru let her thoughts wander, for once letting them free instead of trying to put on such a happy mask to the world. It was while her mind was wandering did she nearly miss the presence of someone else nearby in the dirt with the flowers.
"It's such a relief to feel the weather change and the flowers bloom again isn't it?" Shizuru remarked quietly simply enjoying the outdoors, but now with some light conversation.

She gently placed her spade on the ground next to a few small pouches of special seeds, standing and turning to face the new girl. "I'm Kate," she cheerfully introduced herself. "Who are you? You're new, aren't you?"

After a small pause the name Kate rang a small bell in her head, it was a long shot but her instinct said that it was the same Kate as mentioned before, and her instincts were rarely wrong. (especially when guided by the omniscient authors!)
"You wouldn't happen to know a Liz Riley would you?" Shizuru asked looking at Kate inquisitively, "she tried quite hard to make sure me and my...roommate...were settled in, and she mentioned a Kate..."

"Yeah, I'm her Kate," she happily agreed, acknowledging that she was the same 'Kate' Shizuru had heard of. "That was Liz," she cheerfully explained. "She's really sweet. She always tries her very best, to welcome all the new peoples here." The very though of Liz made her smile, naturally, but even more so was the fact that she was so important to her that she was brought up the very first time these two classmates met.
"So, you have a roommate already," she repeated aloud. Her attention had been called to that word because of the hesitant pauses. Not having met her yet, the curious brunette used that tidbit to continue chatting. "Do you like her so far? What's she like?"

A bluebird fluttered down from a tree branch as she spoke. "When I first came here, I didn't know anybody," she said as she extended a finger for her feathered friend to perch on. "I felt so lost, until someone offered to help me." Innocent blue eyes looked up at the taller girl. "Let me know if you need anything. Okay?" She flashed her a friendly smile. "I'll, try to help out, if I can."

But the smile remained because it was hard to drop into such depression when faced with such innocence, not to mention the beauty of the place around her. It seemed her destination did what she hoped it would and chased away certain thoughts.
"Since Natsuki and I are both new I'm sure we'll need help, and I'll come to you and Liz if I need any help at all."

The girl turned back to the beauty of the budding garden and to the freshly tilled earth. "What kind of flowers do you like?" She then glanced down at the gardening tools and loose soil to make the question seem a little less random. "I wanna grow some different things this year. But! I don't know...what kinds of flowers everyone would like?"
Reply
"I do like purple, and Natsuki loved blue, so perhaps some purple and blue flowers?" Shizuru said, somewhat thinking out loud as she tried to remember what she could about flowers.

"Hmm," the younger girl said after a moment to think. "Chamalla, it's a really pretty purple flower, with these little white streaks in the middle. And...Giraluna, I think. That one is blue, and it blooms at the same time in the year." She nodded, happy with her choices. "They will look really nice together, I think. Yeah, I'll plant both of those, right here for you. It'll look really nice..."
