First Meeting
The first time Jolt saw Sunstreaker, the frontliner was fighting in the training room.  A crowd had gathered outside the open door, and Jolt found himself caught up in it, straining to see what all the fuss was about.  He was new to the Autobot army, still learning his way around and finding his place amongst the other mechs.  Through the crowd, he could see a golden mech facing off against the larger Ironhide.  Despite the odds stacked against him, with Ironhide’s sheer size and fire power, the golden mech was skating circles around him.  Literally.  Swords out, the mech was skating around Ironhide, jabbing at his chassis with the points of his swords.

“Who is that?” He half-whispered to the mech standing next to him.
“You’re kidding, right?  That’s Sunstreaker.”
“Who?” The mech turned to look at him, taking in the freshness of the Autobot symbol on his chassis.
“Oh right, you’re new.  That’s Sunstreaker.  Him and Sideswipe are spark brothers.  They’re two of the best frontline warriors we have.  Aside from old Ironhide of course.” The mech grinned as he gestured at the large black mech.
“Right.” Jolt nodded as he looked again at the mechs fighting.
“Be careful.” The older mech warned, watching Jolt.  “They’re trouble, those twins.”

The first time Jolt actually met Sunstreaker, he didn’t quite so much meet him as walk into him.  He’d been on a recon mission, and had got back late, exhausted and desperately in need of fuel and recharge.  He’d been so tired he’d barely paid attention to his proximity sensors as he staggered down the corridor to his room.  As he turned the corner and met a solid object, he belatedly realised how little attention he’d been paying.
“Watch it.” Sunstreaker growled, hauling Jolt back to his feet.  Jolt muttered some apology and just watched as Sunstreaker and Sideswipe carried on down the corridor.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The first time Jolt met Sideswipe had been when he’d run into his brother.  The silver mech had shot him an amused glance as Sunstreaker hauled him off the floor and back onto his feet with a warning growl.

First Kiss
Their first kiss was typically Sunstreaker.  It was powerful, forceful and passionate.  Everything that Jolt loved about the golden mech.  He melted against the slightly larger form of Sunstreaker, grasping at the other’s plating as he returned the kiss with as much fervor as he could.  When they broke apart, they stared at one another for long silent moments before Jolt finally remembered his vocaliser worked.
“Uh…”
“Yeah.” Sunstreaker was equally lost for words.  He pushed away from Jolt, straightening and looking down at the blue mech.  And then without another word, he turned and left, leaving Jolt staring after him, wondering exactly what he had done to deserve that, and exactly what he could do to get a repeat of it.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
When Jolt kissed Sideswipe for the first time, he hadn’t exactly meant to.  He had been mourning the loss of his mate, mourning the loss of Sunstreaker with Sideswipe.  Both of them were hurting from the loss of the golden mech.  What possessed him to reach up and kiss Sideswipe, he didn’t know.  And he still didn’t know why Sideswipe responded.  And when he registered Sideswipe responding, he realised what he’d done.  In an echo from years previously, he pulled away from Sideswipe and raced off into the night.

First Interface
“Please, let me love you.” Sunstreaker’s whispered words were his undoing.  Jolt nodded slowly, letting Sunstreaker lay him back on the berth.  He stared up at the golden mech straddling him, watching those beautiful but deadly hands trace their way down his frame.  He arched at the gentle touches that sent waves of arousal flickering across his sensor net.
“So beautiful.” Sunstreaker murmured, leaning down to nuzzle against Jolt’s neck cabling, a place he knew from previous encounters was especially sensitive.  Jolt tried to shake his head to deny the compliment, but Sunstreaker’s helm stopped him.  He twisted, brushing his lips against the side of Sunstreaker’s helm, determined to give as much as he could in this encounter.

Sunstreaker groaned, pleased at Jolt’s response.  He pulled back, looking down at Jolt before tracing his fingers over one of Jolt’s interface panels.
“Open.” He said, more order than question, and Jolt didn’t hesitate to comply, letting the port iris open.  Beneath the cover lay one interface port and its corresponding cable, coiled neatly in its compartment.  Jolt could hear Sunstreaker opening one of his ports and shuddered, the reality of what they were about to do coming crashing down on him.  Sunstreaker noticed his shudder and paused, gazing down at Jolt.
“You all right with this?” He asked softly.  Jolt nodded, not quite trusting his vocaliser.  He wanted this.  He wanted this more than he thought he had ever wanted anything at all.  He’d wanted this ever since Sunstreaker had kissed him.  Ever since their friendship had deepened into something more.  He wasn’t going to let his nerves stop him now.

As if Jolt’s nod was the reassurance he needed, Sunstreaker slowly slid the first connector into place.  Jolt could feel his lover’s presence in his systems and reveled in it.  Port by port, cable by cable, they connected to one another until they were a mass of cables and limbs.  Neither moved too much for fear of jerking the sensitive cables, but they still managed to caress each other; hands moving over plating in tandem with the pulses shooting across the links.

Sunstreaker overloaded first, pushing everything that he felt for Jolt across the link as he did.  The depth of devotion the golden mech had for him sent Jolt careening into his own overload, barely managing to reciprocate and show Sunstreaker how much he meant to him.  They lay together, chassis steaming and pinging as the metal of their plating cooled and settled.
“Love you.” Jolt murmured, nuzzling against Sunstreaker’s cheek, not bothering to retract his cables.  He wanted the closeness to continue for as long as possible.  And Sunstreaker seemed to feel the same way; making no move to retract his cables either.
“And I you.” He heard before recharge claimed him.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Jolt barely remembered the first time he and Sideswipe interfaced.  Neither of them did.  After the events in Egypt, everyone was grateful to have survived, and a party of sorts started, both from a desire to remember their fallen comrades and to celebrate their own continuing survival.  Someone had brought out some synthesised high grade, which was almost as good as the stuff they had back on Cybertron.  After that, things had gotten out of hand.  His next memory was of waking up next to Sideswipe, cables slung haphazardly between them and the residual charge of overload racing through his circuits.  He lay there, trying to sort out his memory files, but to no avail.  As Sideswipe awoke, they stared at each other, before retracting their cables in silence.  Neither of them spoke as they moved away to start their day.

First Argument
“I can take care of myself.” Jolt snarled, energy crackling across his frame.  Sunstreaker stood facing him, arms folded across his chest plating, pointedly looking at the injuries Jolt had sustained in the last fight.  Jolt growled.
“Not my fault.” He snapped.  “How was I to know that Decepticon wasn’t deactivated?”
“You should have checked.” Sunstreaker finally spoke.  He’d let Jolt rant and shout at him, knowing the mech needed to get it out of his system before they could talk properly about it.
“Don’t you think I know that now?  It was Ironhide’s kill.  I didn’t think anything could get up after being shot by those cannons!”
“Now you know different.” Jolt huffed as Sunstreaker spoke, turning around and ignoring the golden mech as he stepped closer.
“It’s not a mistake I intend to make again.” Jolt muttered.  He’d already had the lecture from both Ironhide and Ratchet, and he certainly didn’t want a lecture from Sunstreaker.
“I know.” Sunstreaker rested his hands gently on Jolt’s shoulders, as though expecting the blue mech to shake them off.  “I just hate seeing you injured.” Jolt’s frame sagged at the words.
“I don’t want to fight with you.” He murmured softly, leaning against Sunstreaker.  “It was a mistake, and one I’m not going to repeat.  I’ve learnt my lesson.”
“Good.” Sunstreaker nodded, pulling Jolt closer.  “Don’t want to lose you to this war.”
“You won’t.” Jolt promised, twisting in Sunstreaker’s arms and leaning up to kiss him.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“I am not going to be a replacement for my brother.” Sideswipe’s words struck deep, and Jolt flailed internally, trying to think how he could get the silver mech to believe him.
“I know that!  And I’m not trying to replace him.  Primus knows I couldn’t.  But this…” They hadn’t actually named what the casual interfacing that was becoming more than casual.  “This is something I want.  And not because you’re Sunstreaker’s brother.  Because you’re you.  Because you’re Sideswipe and because I think I love you.”
“You…” Sideswipe paused, struck dumb by Jolt’s words.  Neither of them had intended anything, but somehow, something happened, and they’d found themselves turning to one another.  Initially for comfort, but more recently for something more.  Yet Sideswipe had fought it every step, finally culminating in this argument.  To hear Jolt say words he never thought he’d hear completely floored him.
“Sideswipe?” Jolt’s voice was hesitant now, as though he thought he’d done something wrong.  Sideswipe didn’t say anything, wrapping the blue mech in a hug, burying his face in the crook of Jolt’s neck.
“I love you too.”

Last Goodbye
“Hate this.” Jolt muttered, leaning into Sunstreaker’s frame and taking comfort from the warmth of his systems.
“It has to be done.  We have to search.”
“I wish I was on your team.”
“So do I.” Sunstreaker pulled Jolt that little bit closer, hands gripping on to his plating as though he never wanted to let go.  They had been assigned different search teams, and Sunstreaker’s team was due to leave first.  No one knew how long the search for the All Spark would take.  No one knew how many Decepticons would follow each team, only that it was a certainty.  The Decepticons were also looking for the All Spark, and it was a race to find it first.  The Autobots needed to find it first, because they all knew what havoc Megatron would wreak if the Decepticons found it.

“What happens after…” Jolt trailed off, not willing to try and predict the future.
“I’ll find you.”
“You will?”
“I’ll always find you.  I won’t let you go.”
“Really?”
“I promise.” Sunstreaker sealed his promise with a kiss.  Neither of them knew at the time that that promise would be broken in the worst possible way.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“It won’t be for long.” Jolt tried to explain, even though it felt like even a week away from Sideswipe was too long.
“I know.  Just hate you not being here.” Since they’d actually defined what they had as a relationship, Sideswipe had gotten a little… clingy.  Not that Jolt minded in the slightest.  It was somewhat reminiscent of how protective Sunstreaker had been, but that was as far as the resemblance ended.  Sideswipe would take every opportunity he could to touch Jolt, even if it was just a gentle brush of his arm plating as they passed each other in the corridors.
“I’ll be back before you know it.” Jolt promised.  He was only going out to accompany Mikaela to a new base they were setting up in Europe.  Even though Mikaela and Sam had broken up, Mikaela still wanted to be part of the fight against the Decepticons.  Though, with Megatron in hiding and the Fallen gone, no one thought there would be much more of a war.  Training with Ratchet, both Mikaela and Jolt had formed a fast friendship, so they were the ideal pair to set up the new base.
“Doesn’t mean I’m not going to miss you.” Sideswipe pouted, circling around Jolt before pulling him in close against his frame.  Jolt went willingly, leaning back against Sideswipe.
“It’s only going to be a couple of weeks.  What can happen in a couple of weeks?” Jolt shook his head.  It might have been their first goodbye, but Jolt was determined it would be their last.  He didn’t want to be parted from Sideswipe.  And he only knew of one way where he could be with Sideswipe always.  But he was too scared to ask.

“Jolt, if you’ve finished canoodling and reassuring the rolling wonder, we need to get going.  Our flight’s due to leave soon!” Mikaela grinned as she spoke, staring up at Sideswipe and Jolt.  Jolt pulled away reluctantly, but not before kissing Sideswipe one last time.
“Stay out of trouble while I’m gone.”
“Mech, I always stay out of trouble.  It’s just trouble comes looking for me.” Sideswipe grinned, squeezing Jolt’s hand before letting it go.
“Hurry back.”
“Always.”
