Disclaimer: As per usual, the good things in life are not mine to have, but belong to someone else... in this case Hasbro, Takara and IDW and anyone else I’ve forgotten…
Authors Notes: For the tf_rare_pairing  June Challenge prompt - “There is no new thing under the sun." ~Ecclesiastes 1:9.  I bastardised the quote slightly to make it fit, but it’s the same quote… just one of the many versions of it!  This is set after The Golden Lagoon.
Feedback makes friends.  Flames dealt with by the masters of paranoia and fire, Red Alert and Inferno.

“I just don’t believe it…” Beachcomber sighed, looking around at the destruction they’d caused.
“I’m sorry.” Hound lay a hand on Beachcomber’s shoulder, sharing the minibot’s discomfort.  Beachcomber turned, resting his cheek against Hound’s plating, feeling the warmth of his lover’s systems against his own plating.  The ruined landscape behind him still smoldered, but he would help rebuild it.  Help it back to how it had been when he’d first found the pool of electrum.
“Nothing new under the sun.” He murmured, pulling away from Hound.
“What has been will be again, and what has been done will be done again.” Hound ‘finished’ the quote.  “I didn’t realise you’d read that.”
“Read everything.” Beachcomber shrugged.  “Not that it matters.” He moved to pick up some of the debris.
“The Decepticons had to be stopped.”
“They always need ta be stopped.  And nature always pays the price.  It was the same on Cybertron and it’ll be the same here.” He stopped, vocaliser letting out a sharp burst of static as he struggled to contain his emotions.  Hound was the only one he trusted to let himself go with.  Well, Seaspray too, but his friend wasn’t here, and his lover was.
“We’ll stop them from destroying this planet.” Hound promised, moving to stop Beachcomber.  “But you won’t be able to do anything now, not low on energy and emotionally exhausted.” Beachcomber sighed again.
“You’re right.” Hound nodded, leading Beachcomber back to their little camp.
“We’ll rest, then set about sorting everything out in the morning.  I’ve got some friends at a garden center in Portland, they’ll help out, I’m sure.”
“Thanks, Hound.” Beachcomber sat down, unable to take his eyes off the damage.
“Come on, recharge.” Pulling Beachcomber close, Hound settled down to recharge, sighing in relief as he felt Beachcomber relax against him.
