The students are back today and with the start of the spring semester ends five weeks of wearing jeans and parking close to the building. The most wonderful time of the year is officially over. The good news is that just as the temperature plummets into the single digits on Thursday, I'll be headed to a warmer climate for five days.
The free welcome back breakfast this morning consisted of bagels, muffins and juice. I was hoping for eggs, bacon and sausage but still, it was FREE. Lunch tomorrow provided by the Hong Kong Café - not my favorite but also FREE.
I called Elaine to order some GS cookies from Lily and we're getting together for lunch on Wednesday since I haven't seen them since before Christmas. Since they have a physical therapy appt at UNMC, we're meeting at Don & Millie's on Saddle Creek which saves me a trip out to BFE, a drive I dread.
I went to Hobby Lobby over the weekend and bought two skeins of Lion's Brand variegated rose-colored mohair-like acrylic with which to knit a beginner's basic "ribbed-for-her-pleasure" scarf from the Stitch 'n' Bitch book. It'll be my first project that's not the size of a potholder. Or in fact, not a potholder.
