woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head

If anything really bad ever happens to me and I lose all my marbles more than I already have, at least I can rest easy in the knowledge that I'll probably still know the all the lyrics to every song on Sgt Peppers.

Used my WellDay today, earned a while back, mostly to have the oil changed in the car. It said to do so by 2/19 or 28K - I'm only at 25K but I figured it was probably time. I absolutely love going to the dealership to have the oil changed. For $30 they change the oil, the filters, top off all the fluids, measure the tire pressure, test the battery, wash the damn thing, offer free water, coffee, cookies, internet access, comfy chairs, and super clean bathrooms while you wait and wave goodbye to you when you leave. Yes, literally. I'd never buy any thing new but a Honda. Would you believe I was afraid to drive it for the first six months we owned it? If I had 35K burning a hole in my pocket the S2000 convertible I saw on the showroom floor sure would be nice though I don't think it quite fits me. The new "Fit" is much more me - open the hatch and pull down the seats, it's the perfect dogmobile! I really don't place that much stock in materialistic things like cars but right now the Civic is the most valuable thing I own and in the absence of children or dogs (right now), it has become my baby, even moreso than my parent's copy of Sgt Pepper. At the rate I'm going, with the proper care, it could easily last me another 10+ years.

In addition to having the oil changed on my WellDay, I also met Greg and his co-worker Carol for lunch at some little Greek place, drooled over all the yarn I wished I knew how to use at Hobby Lobby, did my bi-monthly supply stock-up, and made random stops at places like Borders and Scout. Later I met up with Greg at his place. While he did yard work, I used the vinyl converter to change all the favorite songs from my parent's albums into mp3, mostly Motown, which is why I had to wait until Greg was otherwise occupied. How he can claim to be such a huge music fan and hate that genre of music I've no idea but we've agreed to disagree (though you all know my taste is far superior).

I've made some progress at knitting and Lily is home far sooner than expected. Miracles never cease!

knitting, music, day off, honda
