Song of the week is Syd Barrett's "Love You".
Over the lunch hour I went back to Scout since I didn't get enough time to look around on Saturday. As I walked in wearing the jean skirt purchased that day, Tegan & Sara's "Back in Your Head" was playing followed by some English Beat song. It's like they knew I was coming - I LOVE that place! I walked away with a sleeveless button-down white Columbia shirt for $6.00. As they get pitted out or stained so easily and go with nearly everything, one can never have too many white shirts in the summer. I expect to be a frequent visitor there, especially seeing as how I live so dangerously close.
I'll be really obnoxious here and say that even though I filled the tank yesterday to the tune of $28 and change, I realized that I've only used 8 gallons since April 11th. Either I don't get out much or everything I need is in midtown.
Greg stepped outside the office around 4:00 and phoned to say that it was so lovely out we should forego the gym for a walk through the neighborhood after work which we did, strolling past all the gigantic, beautiful houses on the other side of 50th & Happy Hollow. I do believe it was the first time this year I've been out for any length of time sans jacket or long pants. Afterwards we had a good but quick meal (thanks, Bertolli!) outside on the new patio set we bought last week for the deck (he bought the tables & chairs while I got the cushions, aka floatation devices).
We're already gearing up for the weekend: Friday night is some bowling event with his work peeps (most of whom I haven't met), Saturday is the first Farmer's Market (barring rain) and preparation for dinner with Steve & Ann, and Sunday we'll be attending separate birthday parties for my nephew Noah and his niece Katie (it was bound to happen sooner or later).
