At 4:30 I called Julie to reconfirm our plans to meet at the Cork & Bottle but unfortunately she had already made alternate plans to help Bernie with some catering job and was only able to pop in for about 10 minutes. I might have left then but Bruce called and asked if it was alright if he make an appearance at his own "happy place" (how ironic is ( Read more... )

Product plug: get one of the new sony mp3 players instead, they cost about the same as ipods and hold more music and I love mine to bits so far.

Though the new ipods include cover art, which is something you might dig.

I'd like to get one eventually but would do some product comparison first. http://www.cnet.com is usually a good site for that. Also, asking people's advice based on personal experience - so thanks for your opinion!

I do dig cover art - tracklistings are very important to me.

Yeah, iPods are freakin' sweet. Not the cheapest and I guess not necessarily the most feature-loaded, but they look and run amazingly smooth.

Not to contradict the wombat, 'cause I'm running off half-memories rather than experience, but I do believe at least past models of the Sony Thingummybob were chided for being unbelievably poorly designed. The first one, I think, worked exclusively with some random proprietary format, and seems like one was just general crap.

It is Sony, though, yeah, seems like they'd be kickin'.

Thanks for your 'pinion. Do you have an iPod yourself then and if so, what kind? I'm thinking to get me one of those 30 GB, maybe even as soon as tomorrow ...

60 GB Video thingummy. Black. It's pretty sweeet. Prolly should have gone with something smaller, 'cause I always end up skipping half of what's on there, but it's neato.

Good to know. My new friend has a 30 GB. It works for him and he's a complete music junkie. Plus it's about $100 cheaper ... I just know that I'd get frustrated with the lack of space on one of the even smaller ones.
