I’m such a softie. A woman returned her books that were over a month overdue and at .25 per day, that would add up to quite a bit. I just didn’t have the heart to do it. It was National Library Week last week and we had amnesty days for overdue books, so I told her that we’d just pretend she returned them on Friday. She was ever so grateful. We got to talking and turns out she’s a grad student taking 2 classes and working a full and part time job. I’ve only got one of each and I stressed sometimes so I can feel for her. She asked for my name so maybe she’ll nominate me for staff member of the year. ;-) Actually, I hope not ‘cause my boss probably wouldn’t approve of what I did. Rebel me.

I’ll be missing out on the college’s graduation ceremonies this weekend. I really enjoy going and usually offer to help out on my own time. Because it’s so small, there aren’t that many students graduating and they usually hug their instructors on stage after receiving their diploma. At the end of it all, the faculty line up on either side and stand clapping for the graduates as they walk through. Damn near brings a tear to my eye. I made a point of seeking out the president’s secretary to let them know that I won’t be there this time since I’ll be out of town, but were it not for that I would be there. She was appreciative. Or thought it was cute. Either way, brownie points for me. ;-) But I really do like attending.

I was quite hyper today. Finally mellowing out now. I like being my bunny self rather than dull and sad, though. I don’t know how James puts up with me sometimes. He hadn’t seen that post I made about what he’s really thinking so he read and laughed. Then at various points throughout the day I would say “I so know what you are thinking right now” as if there was a speech balloon over his head. :-D We were filling out an anonymous drug and alcohol usage survey and I got a lot of material out of that. I wish I could remember half the things that made me laugh.

Well, I really *should* be working on finishing my paper. No, it’s not done yet - but I promise it will be.
