P.S. Happy 4th of July!!!!!
You can open this. I tried (Never posted a video before!). There's no virus attached. Promise. Just a few seconds of the finale. Unfortunately my camera does not record sound.
And of course, as I said, there were not fireworks downtown. We went to the community college, and sat on a hill there. The fireworks took about 20 minutes (shorter than usual, but they were donated by a business and not the city's own). We hiked back to our car and became aware again of how unfortunately sometimes these things are planned out.
About 13 years ago, the Pyrotechnic Society had a meeting near here and set off about 3 hours worth of fireworks in the middle of these fields. We went to that, parked the car, etc,. and on returning to the car realized there would be several hours' worth of waiting to get out of said field because there was a single, dirt, two-lane road and only two exits on to it for ALL the cars in that field. Now this night, there wasn't a dirt road, but there was only one exit from all the parking lots. We sat in the car for about an hour and a half, spooking this spider that was crawling on the windshield by shining a bright flashlight at it. We listened to Wicked. It was "Family Fun." At least it wasn't 4 hours, which was how long it took us to get out of the field all those years ago. But the fireworks were worth it, then and now.
