I was reading some old postings from my mindsay and I found this:
Me to Mom: If evolution selects traits that are advantageous to the survival of the species, why do we still have wisdom teeth? It seems such a large percentage of the population has them removed to begin with. Conversely, if God made us in Her image to be perfect, why did She give us Wisdom teeth? Is it an argument for Evolution, or for God? So many wisdom teeth come in rotten; some though are healthy. And from my mouth four perfect, healthy teeth were forcibly peeled, whilst other teeth languish, cavity-stricken!
Mom to Me: But you see, Daughter, I do not have wisdom teeth.
Me to Mom: This I well know, Mother, as I know the removal of my own hurt like hell. But you see, you are proof of a condinued evolution! Nature had selected you, Wisdomtoothlessone, to find another without Wisdom teeth and continue the perfection of Wisdomtoothlessness. But this plot was foiled; I know, for my wisdom teeth were extracted.
Mom to Me: I foiled evolution....
Me to Mom: When you married my father!
Mom to Me: But he...oh.
Me to Mom: Yes, he was in seminary! Safely locked away, where he and his wisdom teeth could not perpetuate in the population. But you! You foiled all the plans of Mother Nature! You threw a monkey wrench in the evolution of the jaw! For this it is back to the Cambell's Chunky Primordial Soup Mix with us! And your punishment for your usurpation: Daughters with Wisdom teeth who, against Lamarkian genetics, shall not pass on the holes in their mouth because these holes were AQUIRED characteristics!
Mom to Me: But somewhere in your code must lurk the secrets of my non-wisdomtoothed DNA. And you say you will never have kids, nor will your sister have kids. So the line will die, as it was meant.
Me to Mom: Yes, but when I clone myself to carry on the line, I shall be cloned with Wisdom Teeth!!!!
long pause, stares, and blinks.
Mom to Me: Daughter mine, if you clone yourself, the presence of wisdom teeth shall be among the least of your worries.
