Fish Pond Update

Nov 11, 2005 13:41

Here is a brief update on the fish, all of whom are doing well in their new digs, post-sewer replacement. Ah, the joys of being a home owner...
A picture, from around this time last year:

The fish needed a temporary home, for the duration of the 'big dig' through my back yard, so we went searching for a kiddie pool, which turned out to be the only pool remaining at any Walmart or Target in Baltimore (I guess kids don't like to splash around in October). It was larger than needed, especially for my neighbor's back yard, but it certainly did the job well, and was purchased at clearance prices. The primary time constraint was to get the fish back in the ground before first frost...

Much work remains, such as trimming the sides of the pond down, replacing the brick siding, and leveling one of the sides before I fill it up the rest of the way. Thankfully, when Spring time comes around, rugbykate will be here to help with the planting!
