So. I have been in Belize (Ambergis Caye, really) for a very short week and I'm definitely going to have separation anxiety when I leave because, let's face it--Caribbean climate? SO much better than Minnesota.
I have been reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and have come to the conclusion that I rather loathe it. It is 700 pages of force-fed idealism and I'm gagging on her self-righteous spoon, thankssomuch. Why? She makes each of her characters complex, and also utterly contemptible. Her hero is an unrealistic stone edifice of a man who also can't compromise. Rand is clearly intelligent, and also quite clearly fucked up.
There was one passage I rather enjoyed, though, and I thought that I would share. I will do it somewhat later, though, when I'm not paying 6 Belize for a half hour of internet time.
I hope you all had a swell spring break. I certainly did. The swellest.
