Glee 2.06-2.07 Reviews

I'm just going to go ahead and repeat what I said in my One Tree Hill joint reviews: as of late, my reviews for "Glee" and "One Tree Hill" have turned into a bit of a burden as opposed to things I enjoy writing up. So I've decided to be a lot less in-depth in my reviews (though this is more a problem to me with "One Tree Hill" than with "Glee" because I've never had super in-depth reviews for "Glee"). Buttom line... my reviews will be much shorter.

Though I was on base while watching the 2.06 episode - which means I was bored. So my review for that episode is pretty in depth.

Episode 2.06 - Never Been Kissed

  • Wow... I was pretty much in-love with this episode. I don't know if it reached "Duets" or surpassed it, but I just know it was brilliant!
  • And I thought Sam was a great addition to the cast! I'm so in-love with Blaine right now that it's unreal.
  • I really do love Lea, and I love Rachel as well. But I'm getting a little tired of only hearing her voice in group numbers.
  • Rachel yelling out "SPIES" was pretty hilarious =P.
  • Usually, I would've been pissed at the misogynic way Puck and Artie treated Santana and Brittany. But those two (Brittana) have always been known to be a little iffy. Quinn's "WTF?" look when Santana and Brittany were falling over themselves for Puck and Artie's behavior just goes to show you that this is in character for these two cheerleaders, but in no way a stand of the show and what it believes girls to act like.
  • "I'm going to have to go stare at some wounds" HAHAHA. Oh Sue.
  • Quinn going to Sue for advice was CLASSIC. I mean it is kind of backtracking from who she was last season, but I still do like that Quinn sees Sue as some sort of guardian, I guess.
  • OMFG! "Teenage Dream" was BRILLIANT and x1,000,000 better than the original song! =D!
  • Warblers >>>> New Directions!
  • Artie all of a sudden wanting Brittany back was super random. But the most "WTF?" thing was when they mentioned it in the "Previously on Glee". Really? Something happened in the "Rocky Horror" episode to make us believe that Artie wanted Brittany back? Unless I'm missing something, I'm pretty sure this wasn't the case.
  • Glee seemed to have a major problem this episode - the extras (the high schoolers) don't know how to dance. I mean it was pretty distracting. Especially those few guys who were watching the Warblers perform and were dancing. Yeah... that was pretty bad.
  • Santana and Brittany weren't really happy about the dine-and-dash thing by the looks of it. It goes to show you how spinless these two girls can become.
  • Kurt and Karofsky's scene was so intense! Greatly acted, and to tell you the truth the whole situation had me shocked. I'm well aware that homosexuals deal with bullying in school. I have participated in "The National Day of Silence" a few times already (I haven't this past year because I was in Basic Training in the army). But my school in the USA was really liberal. And to see that kind of thing and the way Kurt was being slammed into lockers. Wow... it left me speechless.
  • Puck's "And they kept stealing my waffles" was so freakin' cute! I felt bad for him when he said that no one cared for him, though I would have to disagree. Mr. Schue proves time and time again what a great and caring teacher he is, to all of his students.
  • Poor Beiste =,(. I felt bad for her! Especially when Will had to tell her why the kids were acting the way they were. Her confession to Will was nice in the sense that she showed trust in him. And him kissing her was sweet.
  • The mash-ups were awful compared to last year's. And I felt that the guy's didn't do anything different from what they usually would have. Just because it was songs sung by females doesn't mean anything if they turn it into rock.
  • I was so glad to have Puck back! But BOO for no beating up Sam for being with his girl. =,(.
  • Kurt and Blaine are OTP. Period.

Episode 2.07- The Substitute
  • I was relatively disappointed with this episode - in particular the writing of Gwynth Paltrow's character. I mean she's an award winning actress for crying out loud! And they gave her a pretty idiotic character to play. The only really great scenes she had (acting-wise) was when she was playing opposite Matthew Morrison. That was talent. But the rest of it ("How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?!" and "I'm your new, cool funky teacher!" and "Top 40 sweet cheeks!") just... no. I really wish they would've given her a better character to play.
  • The conjunction song was pretty great though =P.
  • Hahhaa Principal Sue! And the "If you're cutting the football team, who are your Cheerio's going to cheer for?" =P. Fantastic!
  • Terry and Will was interesting, especially because they were together for so long. So it makes sense that they would still be attracted to each other. But the whole baby thing was really stupid.
  • Will seeing the kids as kindergardners was hilarious =D!
  • Santana wanting to kill Rachel. That was funny =).
  • "I'm Finn Hudson, the quarterback" "I'm Rachel, his LOUD girlfriend" "I'm Mike Chang!" LMAO
  • Just because someone likes food doesn't mean they're substituting food for love =S.
  • Blaine and Kurt... HAHA. Oh God. They're definitely in my top three ships! I love them so much! "You scared me!" hahahaha. Plus, that Marion Cotillard mention was a total win!
  • Even Matthew Morrison can't compare to Donald O'Connor's original "Make 'Em Laugh". Sorry. It really wasn't close to the original.
  • "You know, William, one thing I've learned in my time as President" "Principal" hahahhaa. And I loved what each of the students had to say about Mr. Schue =D
  • "Forget You" was great! Gwynth was great! I had this stupid grin plastered on my mouth during the entire thing. How can she still be so talented and so amazing?!
  • The Chicago's number (especially the dancing) was horrendous. Just no.
  • "Singin' in the Rain" was butchered. It's such a beautiful classic song! And it just didn't mash well with "Umbrella" so they sacrificed a beautiful, Classic, song so it would fit to a contemporary song. It was just a big fail. I mean the dance number was cute, but I didn't like that they changed the older song to mash well with the new.
