It's Finally Over

It never fails.

I always get sick around this time of the year. Maybe it's the cold weather, the walking around barefoot, the wet hair in the mornings, the going out without a jacket, the singing in the rain, and whatever else that eventually causes me to catch a cold. At least this one isn't so bad. I've been drinking plenty of orange juice and taking medicine every so often. It's feed a cold, starve a fever, right? I hope so, because I plan on piggin' out later on today. I'm also going to see Peter Pan and Cheaper By the Dozen. Hell, depending on how I feel, I may even see Cold Mountain.

So, Christmas is old news now, but I've still got a lot of complaining to do. I don't have a problem with holiday cheer, but being kicked out of my room just sucks ass. We had too many people staying with us this year, which made me feel suffocated. We opened presents sometime after noon, ate like it was Thanksgiving, watched movies, and played Monopoly. No matter how hard I try, I just can't win at that game... But who can?

I got everything I wanted, but that's what happens when you don't ask for anything. Now I can spend the rest of my money on the stuff I really did want but didn't say because I'm weird that way. For some reason, I just feel better about going out and buying what I want and need instead of it being given to me by someone. Except for those unexpected gifts, like a certain calendar from Terri...

As for the Rondak's game, I gave them a little holiday break this week. It is going well, but I just feel as though my players don't know what I want from them right now. They seem to be playing extremely cautious and carefully, as if afraid to post too much or take the initiative. Some of them at least... I suppose that can only be expected when you have the Apostles of Darkness, the LaMortes, the Seven Sided Circle, and the Serpent Society hunting you down. Having the infamous Zanon leading you around isn't much of a comfort either. I don't think they know enough about his past to speculate whether or not he has their best intentions in mind, or even if he hasn't changed from his ways at all. One time, he even fooled his greatest enemy, Aurian, into thinking that he repented for his crimes and was on the side of good, only to backstab her by unveiling himself as the leader of the Elite, who were destroying the Courtyard and the remnants of the old Forest Guardians. Fun, fun, fun.
