heartbreaking

i don't know how i know, but i just have this feeling that my sis is all stressed up and moody. it doesn't really help that people keep making snide remarks at her about her size. my heart really reaches out to her when i read her blog. i really sympathize with her, i want to tell her that everything's okay and that she's not who she thinks she is, yet i don't know how to. this is not the first time i've felt so helpless in trying to help her. i've been wanting to help her since long time ago. with her studies, with her self confidence, with all the pressure she faces from family and relatives. but i just don't know how to. everytime i see her being teased, being compared, i want to defend her, but i just find myself not being able to.

i want to hug her and tell her everything will be fine. i want to go up to her and comfort her, and tell her that everything will pass by soon. when she grows up, she'll understand that everything she's experiencing right now will be nothing in the future. i know what it  feels like to be compared, to be teased. but then again, she's getting it MUCH MORE worse than me. yet, she still puts on a smile for everyone and acts as if nothing affected her at all.

just because people make fun of her size, she purposely skips meals, she's planning to go on a diet. at first i was wondering why she does that, but then now i know why. she's only 12 for goodness sake. i really just don't understand how some people can be so insensitive. if it's a stranger, fine then maybe it MIGHT be okay, cause it will just be a normal observation. but if the teasings and insults come from your own relatives, friends and even teachers whom you like, it just hurts doesn't it? gosh seriously, cut some slack on aqilah. it's not as if she's not trying hard enough to lose weight. she even freaking cries over those insults please. she thinks no one knows. but i do, cause i've seen it myself.

just because people always compare her with me and naqibah, she feels she's stupid. did you know, it seriously hurts to witness your own sis getting compared to you when you know she's feeling all depressed about it and thinking so negatively of herself. yes, i know i'm more of the smarter one out of all four of us, but that doesn't mean i enjoy seeing my siblings, especially my sis and younger bro, getting hurt because of the stupid comparisons. at times, i just want to shout at those people who always make fun of my siblings, tease them, compare them. but if i do, i'll be deemed as rude. gah adults should seriously stop freaking make comparisons. don't they know just how much it affects the child? don't they know how insensitive and hurtful they are? sheesh.

i just want to tell her that in life, there are always the ups and the downs. you just have to bravely face it. the thing is, i never got around to telling her this. maybe it's because i feel it's weird for me to say that to her. maybe it's because i just forget about it sometime later. i blame myself actually. someone needs to talk to her, someone needs to advise her and protect her from all of these. and somehow, i just feel that this responsibility is mine to fulfill. but i never got to it. i just wish, one day, i can tell her, before it's too late or something.

thoughts, family
