To the other February babies: Happy Birthday!

That being said, I have to squee that mine is tomorrow, and we're headed to Estonia (for those who have being living under a rock and/or just not reading this journal should be made aware that Iäm currently residing in Finland, though only for the duration of the week). Last year at this time, I was sitting at home wondering why I'd been left behind while my parents jetted off to Hawaii, and while I may not be as warm as they were last year, at least I'm having more fun. Finland is so beautiful, and I know the people Iäm staying with are so tired of hearing me say. It's still true! Every day, we have hoar frost all over the trees, so the entire country really is like a winter wonderland, all glittering and crystal. I've had more outdoor activity in the last three days than in the last three years, and tonight we're going cross country skiing. I'm a little nervous, as I've never been on skis before, but they say it's easier than walking, so I'm just going to have to trust them (but the person they've designated my teacher is a thirteen year old who's too shy to speak English around me). Jill's cats are currently going bonkers behind me, and I'm thoroughly pleased to say 'cats' plural, as the one went outside last night and didn't want to come back. I'm glad he's home now. I figured out he was back when he crawled under the covers with me after his parents left for work. No loyalty at all! I have lots of pics to post when I get home, but a warning: they're all of trees and snow! So far, that is, tomorrow may change that.
