Things I Especially Dislike:
- (People who take up whole sidewalks with their) Golf umbrellas
- Neocons
- The phrase "to blow a raspberry"
- Bicyclists who ride while talking on their cell phone and, with the other hand, clutch a cup of coffee and the handle bar and then proceed to run a red light and curse out the poor, innocent pedestrian he almost hits, as if it's her fault he can't obey traffic laws, you lousy son of a bitch!
- Leaving voicemails
- Realizing I just had a really racist thought
- Trying to politely receive a compliment I feel is undeserved
- The awkwardness when you get in the way of a stranger while walking and, while you're both trying to correct the action, still managing to get in each other's way, you laugh nervously, as if to say "what an odd situation we're in, eh?", but the other person either does not acknowledge the laugh or shoots you a rude/uninterested glance, thus making the whole experience even more awkward
- When someone goes through a door, glances back at you, coming straight for that door and still doesn't hold it for you
- How, after twenty-two years, I still fear getting my shoe stuck every time I step onto an escalator
- When I get so embarassed by a character on TV that I'm forced to change the channel
- When I realize I have been sitting/standing/walking with my mouth wide open and am unable to discern how long I was doing that and if anyone noticed
- Spending an hour getting ready to go out, only to arrive at my destination and immediately notice someone who looks better than me and feeling terrible about myself
- The way some people think construction work is scheduled specifically to annoy them
- The feeling you have when driving and you realize you don't remember the last five or ten minutes and, oh god, what if I hit someone?!
- Text-messaging
- Feeling itchy
