i took a walk around the north end today (not the best idea...i keep forgetting it's memorial day and this city is rife with germ-riddled tourists) and wanted to stop into starbucks for a sit and to read the paper. #1-there were no metros (anywhere in the north end for that matter) and #2-the place was crawling with tourists. so i got a frappucino (which came out as the best one anyone's ever made me) and decided i'd walk around some more. but before i left, the guy before me orders a little cup of double shot espresso. and just as i'm thinking "wow, guy's really into coffee, that must be strong" and am mustering up some sort of admiration because two shots of espresso is crazy, i watch him fill the cup (mind you this is one of those dinky ones) with whole milk and sugar. what a dork. my respect, out the window (ok, who am i to say anything, i was getting a frap...). anyways, i walked all around the waterfront, looked at the uss. constitution which i always forget is SO close even though it's "across the river"; the river's not wide there and found the bocce courts (i looooove bocce, one of the only "sports" i can be good at) and wandered back through the little side streets. ah, i love the north end. i'm going to come back all summer just to saunter around, which is what i should have done all last summer. stupid nicole. oh yes, and visit nidia and olivia and omar. i suppose i could do that, too.
wednesday is new apartment day! i'm wicked excited and doubly glad i don't have work that day so i can go over right around noon and maybe clean a little, go grocery shopping to fill the place up and then sit somewhere on the floor and ponder how to arrange my furniture.
speaking of which, moving out last saturday wasn't too bad. everything JUST FIT in the car. unfortunately my mom warned me that there was no way they're taking more than two cars and more than one trip next week, meaning a lot of the stuff i have has to stay at home now (until i go home and get it all back, buwahahahaha!). but that sadly means a lot of clothes (ok, winter clothes) and books and fun decorating things must stay behind. and i'm prob going to spend money to fill their spaces up and then i'll have even more stuff and my mom will kill me. i tried to explain how it wasn't my fault i had so much stuff. my parents forgot; when i moved into this apartment: 1-we used two cars to move in, 2-some stuff was already here, 3-my winter and summer clothes were never switched during spring break nor did i bring things back over spring break, thinking i was going to stay here, 4-there were lots of things we bought/brought up during the year, 5-at least three bags were food/kitchen things. so, really i didn't have that much. so there.
next saturday i move in for keeps and then spend the rest of the weekend playing house. you won't see me unless you come by. i'll make you cookies if you do.
