Right, right. So the day after I got back from Anime Boston I was contacted by an editor of the kids division of an indie comic publishing company. Amazingly it's an actually notable one, and not one of those laughable "we need an artist and are willing to pay you with credit" deals.

So it turns out he was scouting potential artists for this project and stumbled across some fanart I've done of the series. He liked them and asked me if I wanted to do some samples to see if I'm a good fit. I accepted and a week later sent in a mix of character and environment designs. He thought that they were pretty neat and wants me to try doing a sample page to see how sharp my sequential comicing skills are. He'll be sending me a script once he gets one, if I pass that test I'll be makin' comics. So we'll see how that goes. More info on what the project actually is as it develops.

MoCCA haul.
Knights of the Shroud, The Paul Reveres sketchbook, Station Square,, Family Reunion, Big Feet Big Friends, and the Dresden Codak 2010 sketchbook.

NOT from MoCCA are Life Meter 3 and Paradigm Shift vol.1.

For those of you who haven't heard of it the MoCCA festival is a large annual indie comic convention here in NYC. Comic artists from all over come to sit behind tables and sell their lovingly crafted comic stories. It's a great experience that lets you see such a broad range of storytelling talents in one place. Comics are LIFE to so many. I didn't buy as many comics as I wanted to but I took lots of business cards so I could peruse their stuff online. Hopefully they'll be back next year or something.

Other things!

The author of Family Reunion was selling posters of his comic, great stuff! I love people who pay so much attention to background details.

I'm not really a fan of The Paul Reveres, but I do like the artists sketch style, it's loose and full of lots of energy. And she was selling Willie bandanna's too.

Even more other things!

Stuff I got from Anime Boston:

Manabi Straight trading figures. Not pictured: White swimsuit alt/dupes of Manabi and Mika.

Nia Waitress EX Figure and Figumate Kamina City Nia and a dupe Kinon (Geh).

One Piece x Dragon Ball Kai Nami & Muten Roshi.

Adorable buttons! Deadpool, Catwoman, Harley, Ivy and Taokaka.

This one has nothing to do with MoCCA or Anime Boston. It's just here to fill others with envy. (It's delicious!)

And that's it for now. You're all caught up, be happy.
