Yay! Still alive!
There may not actually be anyone out to get me. It may just be rampant frothing paranoia on my character's part. Who knows? But she's damned well going to be paranoid. Given how many of the group have gone missing over the last year or so, she has a point.
However, she now has vague doubts about the authenticity of the original rumours that a certain group wants her dead. The next generation of rumours reads: the aforementioned people want my character dead and have arranged for a specific group to kill me.
This is somewhat dubious because the group of purported assassins...
(a) are the least militaristic people you could think of
(b) have a lot more in common with my character than the people allegedly hiring them
(c) don't get on with the people paying them to kill me
(d) get on quite well with me
and *drumroll*
(e) are probably the single group my character has been alone with most in the entire system but have still failed to kill her even a little bit. Except with possible attempted alcohol poisoning, which is probably more harmful to player than alchemically-immune dryad.
Nonetheless they have offered to split any money paid to them if I pretend to be dead.
This is probably a bad idea, because if I'm meant to be dead and people see me walking around, the wrong conclusion may be reached. Not that Utopia have some kind of reputation over undead or anything. *Ahem*

- Number of times murdered by elite ninja assassins: 0
- Number of times murdered by anyone else: 0
