Random supermarket interlude...

hammerhydra and I went to the supermarket.  Tescos was full of mothers' day merchandising.  My eye was caught by a whole range of pink and purple toy owls.  While I'm partial to owls, they were all embroidered with mum-specific sentiments.  One of them had a button to press.  It came out with some sentimentality which sounded exactly - and I mean exactly - like the mothers' day card from Futurama.

We wondered on pick up shopping with hammerhydra sporadically saying "comrade, throw off the chains of human oppression" and "the bourgeois human is a virus on the hard drive of the working robot" in the squeaky little greeting-card voice, when he paused, went all serious and said:

"You must promise to never get your mother a communist talking owl for mothers' day.  She'd probably have you killed."

Somehow that was the funniest thing ev-ar.  I couldn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes.  And that's why I love him :)
