The war against OCD, part 3.

May 08, 2008 07:30

Well, the war on OCD suffered a bit of a setback yesterday.  It seems the OCD called up traitorous forces in the forms of shedding kitties, and forced my own forces back a bit.  I spent the good part of last night vacuuming the sofa and then reading up on portable steam cleaners for upholstery.  I think I know where my tax check will be spent.  Assuming it ever gets here, of course.

Nothing much going on down here.  I work, go home, and that's about it.  I'm seeing a new girl, who has been dubbed Dr. Geek by my resident social/love advisor.  She (Dr. Geek) is indeed a medical intern, over at Memorial City Hermann.  She's just doing general study now, and she'll do the specialized study starting next month.  She's still not 100% sure what she wants to do.  Possibly ER work, possibly something else.

Dating her is interesting.  She's older than a lot of women I go out with (yay!), and she's got a fabulous knowledge of a variety of geeky things, such as the complete cast of Firefly and Quantum Leap.  She's Irish, so I get to hear all sorts of fascinating things from her point of view.  Cursing, love, cute little idioms she says, such as, 'Well just fock me from here to Galway, I thought you were getting the door, you amadan!'.  I'm not sure what all that means, but it's cute when she says it.

Ok, that's about it, I reckon.  Time to go back to work and earn my keep.
