"I want adventure in the great wide, somewhere"
I cannot believe that it is over a week into 2013 already! 2012 completed, and 2013 beginning brings me the completion of my internship, a new role, and new challenges.
I successfully completed my 2012 Picture of the Day challenge. I think that my sister and Duncan may have been the only ones that actually looked at all 366, but it is quite the feeling of accomplishment! It takes a lot of dedication that most people give up on after a few weeks. I had so much fun completing that challenge that I wanted another challenge. I have decided to celebrate something each and every day. I have researched silly and random Holidays and have committed to celebrating and taking a picture of each day's challenge. My sister and my friend, Jenny, have also decided to take on the challenge. So far, we're all going strong!
My new role is Concierge at the Disney's Polynesian Resort. I am absolutely thrilled to have a Full Time role, and I am equally as thrilled to be placed at the Polynesian. I know that once I get comfortable, I will absolutely love the role, but I know it's not long term. I am definitely looking for that next opportunity and hope it comes sooner rather than later. Prior to training for Concierge, I have to train in Front Desk. Prior to training at the resort, you have to take a 4 day class at Disney University, which as a reminder is where I did my Professional Internship and the class is one that the team I was on supports, it makes it all so weird. I am lucky to have some awesome facilitators that I have crossed paths with during that time that makes this transition a little bit easier. My last day of the class is tomorrow, and then next week I start my on-the-job training, which will consist of 6 days. I'll work a few weeks at the Front Desk and then return to Disney University to complete 3 more days of class for Concierge, and then return once again to the resort for more training. All in all, I'm hoping than I'll have an idea of what my next adventure will be, but until then...Aloha!
