Yay! Praise the writing muses for I come bearing not one but two Rent drabbles. Mildly Slashy...Not nearly as much as I wanted them to be but....it'll have to do.

Title: Watching is Not Seeing

By: Eden Rosetta

Rating: PG (A little dark...)

Pairing: Mildly Mark/Roger

Summary: There's a big contrast in the way that Mark and Roger view the World.

Watching is Not Seeing

By: Eden Rosetta

Mark watches. It's in his nature to observe and think and catalog what he sees and the camera is the extension of Mark's observant nature. He notices things others don't but, sometimes he sees the world so clearly through his camera he doesn't realize how blurry his vision really is.

Roger feels, that's is Roger's nature. In the days before HIV he had been all about the feeling. The feeling of being worshipped while playing his guitar on stage and singing lyrics that followed so easily from his soul to his lips. The feeling of making love to April into the early twilight hours. The feeling of being invincible when that sickening sweet poison was roaring through his bloodstream.

Mark watches Roger without the musician knowing because sometimes Roger feels so much he can't see much beyond the sour notes he coaxes from his guitar. He knows Roger is searching for his one song glory.

Mark can see what Roger can't because in his eyes he knows that he won't need a song to remember the man in front of him.
