I'm in such an AMAAAAAAZING mood!!!
I'm seriously so freakin' happy its making ME disgusted.
*^_^*
I'm ecstatic!!!
With no reason.
No explination at all; no cause.
Just puuuuuure BLISS.
No car.
No job.
So what teh heckzorz has gotten into me?
Actually, my car is FINALLY being taken to a shop today...where someone will actually FIX it. If one wants something done right (or done at all), one must take matters into her own hands.
I was up at the arsecrack o'dawn this morning.
6:30AM.
Of my own free will.
I went to bed at midnight, and woke up completely on my own.
Seems such a shame that its now 6AM the NEXT day and I STILL haven't gone to bed. (I did take a nap from 11AM to 1PM so that is probably what threw me).
And then Beth Chapman shows up here around 3PM because we'd planned to go to the airshow at the National Guard in the Burg.

It was sooooooo AWESOME!!!
We didn't do too much at first; just kinda walked around, and eventually camped out in the shade of a jet on display.
Well, we'd only really gone to see the hot air balloons, which were supposed to launch at 5PM. However, they kept having to push the time back because of the heat; they hadn't expected it to be as hot as it was. So after they delayed the launch for another hour, I crawled out from under the jet, and climbed up onto a wing...and just sat there...making myself the center of attention, where I LOVE to be.
Ten minutes later, nine or ten other people had climbed up on the wing with me, thus officially making me a 'trendsetter'. Mwua! Love it.
And then Beth decides to walk back to her car to get her cell phone; the other girl with us--her friend Marsha--also went with her. So, being semi-alone on the wing of the airplane, I decided to bust out my iPod and trance out.
Best decision I made all day.
Because the next thing I know, I'm lost in "Are You Ready" by Calyx...when a fleet of Paragliders takes off into the air. (Paragliders are the ones who fly around dangling from a canopy with a fan strapped to their butts. Its quite an amusing concept to contemplate. Muah!)
So they're doing all these AMAZING stunts, and I'm listening to music that aligned with every trick they did just PERFECTLY. If you bothered to read my other journal about techno (which I HIGHLY doubt you did because go figure that my best recent entry only got 10 views), I stated that prolonged exposure to techno/drum n'bass causes spontaneous aesthetic experiences.
That would be a prime example.
[And for those wondering, an 'aesthetic experience' is when you experience a personal moment of profound beauty and meaning that is signifcant only to you.]
Beth and Marsha were back by the time the song ended; so we decided to walk down to the other end of the airfield and get a better look at the paragliding. We realize as we start to walk over that the balloons are FINALLY beind set up for launch. And before that we got to watch a helicopter take off. I swear, I practically grew up on a military base (my step mom is a naval physical therapist and stationed on Quantico Marine Corps. Base.)...and I am never failed to be amazed by launches.
After if took off, we walked over to the balloons to get a better look...
And guess who go walking by?
Mama and papa Baker, AND John.
(And Katie, a girl I was in Camerata Singers with for a year)
How. Random.
AND COOL!!!
Lol.
I always love seeing the Baker parental units; they're WONDERFUL people!
But yeah, it was an all-around GREAT day!
I've never seen hot air balloons launch; I was completely facinated by the whole process. I expected it to be much more complicated than it was. And I wasn't at all expecting to be able to practically reach out and touch the balloons as they were launching; but they let the spectators get so close that...well, when the wind caught one, the canopy nearly tipped over onto the crowd standing directly under it. (It wouldn't have done any harm though; would've been quite amusing in my opinion...imagine having THAT story to tell to friends and family?)
By the end of the day, Beth, Marsha and I all agreed that taking a hot air balloon ride should be left to do when you're 50...because the more extreme air sports should be done while you're young, and you need to have SOME things left to do in the golden years.
So now, all I have left to look forward to is Band Camp in one week.
YAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok its seriously time for me to get some sleep.
I'm out.
