In a year where mostly a three month stretch held all the good movies, W. didn't attempt to break the mold. Stone's movie about BushCo was pretty much what most of the Bush hating public already thought or imagined his presidency to be. You know that DICK Cheney was the behind the scenes power broker and that Colin Powell's viewpoint on invading Iraq was met with scathing criticism. Nothing in this movie will surprise you if your a Bush hater. The only glimpse into the disturbing aspect of Bush Jr. is that by virtue of being a so called Christian, it allows you to be amongst other things, a dumbass, reckless, more right that than the non-believers, and that it is just dandy if you make up the Christian wing of the Republican party......Scary. I'm glad I went to see it but it's about a five on the 1-10 scale. On the bright side, I did see the trailer for Pride And Glory which opens next week and I Will go to see that. Ed Norton (like his movies) and Colin Farrell, in a good Irish cop, bad Irish cop thriller, come on, what's not to like? As the year winds down, unless a new rash of good movies comes out soon, this will be a shit year for the movie going public. At least Iron Man, Batman, and The Strangers were good. HAGO AATR
Oh yeah, Sid Crosby got his 100th goal and 200th assist against the Leafs yesterday. Not too shabby for his short career so far. Go Pens!
