3 Day Notice

Nov 13, 2005 18:13

On Thursday evening, our house mate called over his friends (I call them the goone squad and the brain trust), I knew something was up, cause the only time they come over now is when he has something to give us. I was right. At about 9pm, he handed me two sheets of paper with words 3 Day Notice on it. I was so furious. I went and picked J up from school and we went over to our friend Steve's house to use him computer to do research.

Basically, it is going to be a long time before he can forcefully evict us from his residence, especially with the financial situation that we are in. Also, we found out that if it ever got to a judge, he will question why our housemate let us move in when we had no money, (we paid him 1200 bucks in August after living there 3 months rent free) and all of the sudden, with J so close to graduating why he was in so much of a hurry to get rid of us.

Also, take into consideration that is is almost winter here, and no judge is going to evict someone in the middle of the winter and we have things on our side.

However, we do not want this to go to court, and we have looked at a bunch of apartments. We found a really great 2 bedroom for 680 a month plus a 30 dollar pet rent and it is only a mile and a half from where we are now. December and January might be a bit tough, however, we will find out about J's job this week(god willing) and we are going to apply for a personal loan. With his job and mine, we might actually get it.

If we get the loan, then we will move on or about the 1st of December. Thank god! Nothing agianst having room mates, but this put a real sour taste in our mouths. I would like to think if the situation were reversed, we would have acted in a much more civilized way. I just know that our housemate will get everything that he deserves and grow old and lonely with his dog and goone squad.

In other news: One month till J is done with school, YAHOO! I can't fucking wait. We have already started looking at furniture and other things we have wanted for a long time but haven't been able to afford. Also, we have worked out contigency plans, should we have to stay in the area longer than this summer. It is a fact we might have to face. As, we are going to spending more money than we thought on living situation, and saving might be harder.

Our contigency is to wait till January of 2007 if we have to, then J will sign on with a traveling nursing group and we will let them move us cross country. Hey, it sounds like a good plan.

I just want to give a big shout out to all of our friends who have been a great help during this very trying time. Hugs and kisses to everyone.
