a couple of tidbits

I'm heading to the Troc on Friday to see the original MST3K cast riff a movie live and in person! I'm not sure which one they're doing, but I'm sure I'm going to have a great time. I doubt I'll get to meet him, but just being that close to Joel is going to be... like, monumental. He was my very first celebrity crush! Plus, I'm going with Jamby, who I've missed a whole lot lately.

My flowers are slowly coming along. I still have to go to get more mulch to do the other side of the front garden as well as the trees in the yard. I just got my verizon rebate back, though, so that's probably what it'll go toward.

Nine Inch Nails was all right. They didn't play Closer, but did close with Head Like a Hole. They also did Mr. Self Destruct, Heresy, Burn, and Wish, so I guess I can't complain too much. I think the one thing that made it slightly more disappointing than fun was when Trent said, "Sorry I've made a few mistakes tonight. My head is somewhere else tonight." Who the hell wants to hear that when you've paid money to see one of your favorite bands perform? I mean, even if your head isn't in it, you don't TELL the audience that! :/ But I got to hang out with Shannon and Holly together, which hasn't happened in years. It was cool. :)

I jacked up my pinky toe yesterday. I went to adjust my chair by doing that bouncy thing and I crashed the leg right onto my toe. It's all purple and swollen... but I can still move it and bend it, so I'm not too worried. Plus, it hurts less today than it did yesterday. It's just fugly as hell. I hate my feet. Always have. They're all long and skinny, but wide where the knuckles are. And my toes look like fingers. And now I've got two mangled toes on my right foot. I have always wished I had cute feet so that I could wear open-toed shoes without feeling weird. Alas! You can't have it all, I guess.

I'm still working at home, too. We were supposed to move back to the main building on May 29, but we keep getting postponed. Right now we're not sure what the hold up is, but there is one. I seem to have adjusted to work-at-home better than anyone else in my department. I'm still super productive, but it seems that others have had problems with it. Also, other people said they've been feeling isolated and lonely. I don't know if I'm just okay with being solitary, or if I'm just better at coping, but I haven't had any of those feelings. I've actually been happy to be at home these past few weeks, what with all the crying I've been doing.

I finished re-reading Harry Potter yesterday. I cried just as much yesterday as I did the first time I finished the Deathly Hallows. Also, Joe told me that the 12th Wheel of Time book is available for pre-order at Borders. I asked him to reserve me a copy... even though it isn't due out for another five months or so. I'm really interested to see how someone else picks up where Robert Jordan left off. I also REALLY want to know what's going to freaking happen!

Okay, back to work, I suppose. ;)
