Day three with Ferris. Loving it. Even though the specter of cleaning him up after he shits his pants haunts me, I love this job. Working retail has either warped me or motivated me or, mostly, warped me.
This is a great fucking job, though. I have one student, and my goal is to help him be more independent. I don't have 30 fucking students who have to master skills, and then show them all on a day with NO (i.e., ALL THE FREAKING) PRESSURE. Crash is a consistent B student, with some As in Language Arts, and some Cs in math. However, he has failed every fucking end-of-grade (EOG) test he's taken, even with every modification they've made for him.
Where was I? back to Ferris. He is a great guy, and he works so hard at everything. Plus, I got paid to watch The Brave Little Toaster with him while we made necklaces (that last part actually helps his fine motor skills.) I feel like right now I am just Shiny New Girl with Lots of Ideas, all Tracy-Flick-obnoxious, but I can't help it. I am so bouncy and excited.
