Ok so I was going to wait until I got the photo's from last weekend before I posted, but my friend seems determined not to send them and I cant wait any longer, lol.
So Saturday was Kerry's last show and what a show it was. We had amazing seats, right in the centre of stage and just a few rows back. Oh and I was sitting beside 2 women who looked the double of Dianne (not saying anything, but suggesting plenty, lol)
I have never in my life seen singing like it, she really did go out on a high! When she first came running out on to the stage everyone went crazy cheering and appluding. She had her head bowed shaking it and it seemed like she was going to get upset before she'd even said one word, lol. She welcomed every scream and seemed to get overwhelmed by it all. Her chemistry with Dianne and Oliver was amazing, they held it together really well until the end, but you keep seeing them exchange little smiles at each other, it was too cute. At defying gravity it felt like the roof was going to come off with the amount of cheering that went on. Before her last aaggghh, she had to take a breath, bless her little heart and she got a standing ovation :)
In as long as your mine, she said for the last time I feel wicked, Oliver looked like he was a little upset and they hugged for ages, it was so sweet to watch.
And then comes for good! It was sooo emotion, I cried my little eyes out as did most of the people around me. There were men in the row in front of me crying it was that sad. Dianne had to keep drying her tears, it was awesome. I really cant describe the night. If you listen to Kerry on youtube, multiply it by 100 and it only comes close to how good she was. I had shivers during her defying gravity and my favorite no good deed.
Their speeches we amazing and again emotional. Kerry said she couldn't talk about Dianne without crying, but that she balanced her. Dianne thank Kerry for being the best mate not only on stage but off it as well. Kerry thanked all the fans and said she'd never talked as much in her life, lol.
At stage door we waited AGES! Oliver was the first out and someone asked him for a kiss and he was like 'Oh I dont think I can kiss you, swine flu's about, lol. He is very handsome up close and so lovely. When Kerry and Dianne finally came out they were being rushed thru the crowds. Dianne got to quickly sign programmes but when she stopped to get a photo at the end her bodygaurd was pushing her to the taxi :( Kerry was amazing, thanking everyone the whole way. At my side she called us bonkers as people on the road and everything, she thought we'd get killed, lol.
So that was a quick run through but really it in no way describes the night, out of all the Elphaba's I love Kerry has overtook them all in the singing department, she absolutely blew me away!
Now then Rent was on Sunday and again it was amazing. The cast only had 1 rehersal a week for 6 weeks but you couldn't tell, it was perfect. All the proceeds went to charity and it was well worth the money. I sang along to all the songs and I kinds have a crush on one of the ensamble memebers Rebecca Wicking, she just drew me in and the Joanne as well. At the end everyone was up singing and clapping and I skipped out of the theatre trying to learn my friend the words of seasons of love :) God the whole thing was just the most amazing birthday weekend ever. I will never forget it to the day I die, just like seeing Idina in chess last year on my birthday :) xxx
