Q. This country's chief exports include:
       1) AK-47s'
       2) Vodka
       3) Caviar, and
       4) Suicidal writers

A. What is the former Soviet Union?!  *lmfao*

Found myself in a good mood - thanks to "Elf" with Will Ferrell <3 and another excellent episode of "House M.D." DR. CHASE & DR. WILSON ARE SO MUCH LOVE!

So decided to watch "Lord of War" with Nicholas Cage. I've missed everything in theaters over the last year + 'cause I've become really freakin' anti-social DON'T JUDGE THE SHUT-IN!

Nick Cage manages to make what should be a really dark movie, somehow morbidly funny :P

Actually I'm not 'against' gun-runners per se, or the people that make weapons. The basic truth of it is that violence predates our human history, it's in our DNA. In my hands, a gun would be about as dangerous as a potato. Oddly I like pretend violence, but I hate the real stuff. And whatever I feel about wars and violence, it's the people doing the killing that horrify me.

Sierra Leone is it's own story (re: HELL). Must remember to get Ishmael Beah's "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier". Saw his interview on The Daily Show.

Currently reading "The Night of The Moonbow" by Thomas Tryon. It's fairly old, and so far I'm not really feeling it, and the N.Y. Times review doesn't make me feel better about it. It's about adolescent boys at a summer camp, and this kid being an out-cast, and the story takes place in the 1930's so the pre-WWII idyllic boyhood stuff is nice, but it's tempered with this ecclesiastical-americana feel...dunno if I'll finish it, since pronounced Christian literature pretending to be other annoys me. And no, I don't put C.S. Lewis in this category.
Also if anyone has seen a naked blond bishie running around, do contact me. Poor thing escaped his shackles ;_;
