here we go

Well the day is finally here! Today is 'general elections' in my country. I don't mind saying who I'll be voting for, because I still have the idealism to trust in democracy. *silly me*

I'll be voting for change. Hopefully, Winston Dookeran will be Trinidad's next PM. But I'm honestly nervous, while I'm voting for the COP on their economic and agricultural policies, many people (my Granmother por ejemplo) still seem to be holding fast to the traditional parties. I think of those party leaders as kinda Insane and Incompetent.

International polls still seem to be supporting the ruling party.

While my excitable side is all "if the COP doesn't win, I'm moving to Canada!! (or Switzerland!)", truthfully I'll probably just continue waiting to be picked up by extra-terrestrials.

But it could be worse. As much as I dislike Insane and Incompetent, neither on them are completely without hope. When I watch the International News on the BBC it's easy to get disheartened by the awful things happening everywhere, so this is my little pray; a hope for Great Change.

EDIT: Have voted!! >.<

Also, met one of my mom's cousins there, and well - I'm so my family. Loud and raucous and just so quirky.
