Dreamin’ - 150 words
On a warm spring day, somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic, an island appears out of nowhere.
The children playing on its sandy purple shores are happy and carefree.
At the sound of a tweeting bird they abandon their playthings and run towards the small village nestled amongst the palms.
The villagers congregate in the main square, an excited buzz in the air as they chat amongst themselves.
“Will the Goddess appear today?” they wonder.
Again they hear a tweet, and a hush falls over the entire island.
Grasping the holy iPhone, the village Elder stands to address them.
She clears her throat. “The Goddess is going to wash her car!”
The crowd cheers. But the Elder holds up her hand - there is more.
“She wishes us a beautiful day!”
And the villagers rejoice. Their Goddess has remembered them.
So all is well the merry new land of Calidornia.
