I am still on a concert high. The whole weekend at Rock On The Range was amazing, not as good as years past but still fucking awesome. I got a few things signed and got to see Zakk wylde not but five feet away from me.
A7X killed it like always but I didn’t get any worthwhile pics. Taking pictures at night with my camera at crew stadium does not work. I was not going to go into long detail but I feel like doing it now.
Saturday Mom, Bud, and I leave at 11:10 AM to get to Columbus which 45mins from where we live. The traffic was horrible we got inside the concert at close to 12:30 or after. We get in and I meet up with my brother Cody, Liz(sister in law) and two of their friends.
opinions on bands(I got to see) from Saturday:
what I heard from Sick Puppies was not to bad. I was very disappointed in Crossfade. I did not like Asking Alexandria at all and did not finish watching them. My Darkest Days impressed me a lot and they now have a new fan. Did not get to see POD :( Black Veil Brides were bad and I did not finish their set. Egypt central was just okay nothing impressive. Danzig was… they were okay I am just happy to be able to say I got to see them. Staind was good like always but Aaron Lewis just didn’t seem into the show at all. Korn like always was fa-nominal, I have seen them before just like Staind. I like Korn but it’s like watching the same show over and over again. The band has wonderful energy though and I always enjoy seeing them. Avenged Sevenfold was wonderful they never disappoint me they made me cry of course since the last time they played rotr was their last US set with Jimmy. They interacted with the crowd a lot. Matt forgot lyrics and I about died from laughing and then had to explain to my brother why. My brother is just now really getting into A7X so we talked for over an hour about them that night and watched All Access when we got back to his place. Of course Matt talked about the rapture and how none of us would have known until we left the concert because we would all still be here on earth rocking out.
During Korn we almost got into a group fight because this bitch would not listen and the security guard was on our side and was trying to get us to lift her up and make her crowd surf, she was to heavy to try and lift though haha. Earlier that day my brother bought me the Waking The Fallen vinyl as a early graduation present. Got to meet My Darkest Days and got their cd signed, they are real nice dudes.
Sunday Cody and I wanted to get there early so we could see 10 years and make sure we were there in time for their signing. But his friends were running late and half way to the venue we had to go back for their tickets. Who the fuck forgets their tickets! We get in and watch 10 Years they were the first band to preform on the main stage. Jesse Hasek(singer) crowd surfed and they were very talkative and interacted a lot with the fans and crowd, they were a good way to start off the second day. My brother got a bandanna from them and got me one so we had them sign them instead of a cd. Did not even watch Saving Able because they sucked the last time we saw them. Black Label Society were amazing did not get to watch all of them though. You have to give those dudes so much respect and Zakk walked past Cody, Liz, and I and smiled then stuck out his tongue and did the devil horns. We were stunned and it took a few to register who we had just seen. Bullet For My Valentine was good at least what i heard, but I heard people saying their sound went to shit half way through. Pop Evil was terrible, Cavo was okay, Trapt was disappointing. Hollywood Undead put on one hell of a show and I am going to start listing to them again even though most of their fans annoy the hell out of me and that is why I stopped listening in the fist place. The Damned Things were very good, Scott Ian was not there but for a good reason, his wife went into labor so. I got to meet them and they were all nice and very appreciative of the fans. I find it so funny because all of the guys other bands are fucking huge. Disturbed was good like always though the set that they played and everything they said was exactly what they did when I saw them August. A Perfect Circle was very good, really mellow for the final act but good. I love James Maynards voice. Everyone kept asking why he was hidden so me and my brother had to keep explaining how he does not like to be seen and blah blah blah.
My brothers friends asked if I cared if they smoke pot it’s like dude really its a concert just do it if you want to. My mom bought me the new Bullet album on vinyl. Over all it was very amazing weekend.
