I've been feeling so relieved, so un-tense for the past two days. I've finally sent the required documentation to the University of Toronto and McMaster University.
After getting the originals xerox-copied, I had to get my last year's A-level results, the letter from the school stating my predicted grade in Chemistry and Biology this year and last year's mock exam results [uh, "transcripts"] attested by our headmistress' secretary. She charges 2 bucks for each attestation. It's just a stamp and a signature, woman! Where did you learn to overcharge like that?
I also had to go back to Arab Unity School to get xerox copies of my O-level results and my school reports from the ninth grade to the eleventh grade attested by one of the principal's secretaries. He was a bit reluctant to give me those A4 size envelopes which I needed to put my documents in - they were sitting right there on top of his shelf and I told him I needed only two and I'd even pay for them. "Ok, I can generously give you two." So I generously received them without paying a fils for anything, which is surprising, because Arab Unity zimbly louwes menney [simply loves money, in a Malayalee accent].
Yesterday morning, Papa sent the four envelopes in the mail. I took great care to write the address, my student number and name in big, clear letters so it gets delivered to the right place. McMaster had specifically asked me to print and attach the labels that stated my student number and their address on it, but I didn't do it because the font on the label was way too small and it had both my address and their address on it without any indication as to which address was supposed to receive the envelope.
Ammi has gone to
Nagpur because my grandmother isn't doing so well. I had to run out and get the groceries/deodorant today. It was fun using my bike for something useful. The boys roaming the aisles of Spinney's are hot.
Best Buddies Int'l is planning to hold a walk in Mamzar Park on March 9th. The theme is 'adopt a disability'. Mrs Neena says she expects 3000 people to show up but it doesn't look like a lot of people are going to, because it's coinciding with the Russell Peters comedy show in Dubai and the Desert Rock concert, also in Dubai.. Mrs Neena's gonna be really upset.
