Went to school today to pay my year's fees. Fees have increased.. but that's just because I'm taking two science subjects this year [Biology and Chemistry] compared to last year when I took just one science subject [Physics] and Math.
Mr Warren took the fees and filled out the receipt at the back of my 'Prospectus'. Mr Warren's gotten so tanned! He looks really nerdy [in a cute way] with his new pair of specs. Like a typical Math teacher. I'm gonna miss being taught by him.
I was carrying around my Math and Physics textbooks from last year because today was also the grand Book-Selling Day. Most people were idiotic enough to buy new books that the school was happily selling, not caring to roam the school's compound a little to look at second-hand books being sold at half or less the price. Anyways, the books I was carrying were already reserved for Abeer's friend Amna. But she's taking Pure/Pure Math and Physics while I took Pure/Applied Math and Physics last year, so I only had four out of the six necessary Math textbooks which are common to both Pure and Applied students.
I've promised her that I'll get the two other books from somewhere else at a good price.
Carrying the plastic bags full of heavy books had nearly cut through my fingers. Boy, they really are murderously heavy.
After this fiasco at school, we went to Pro's, one of those pool/network games places which is frequented by jobless people. This girl, Deanne, who was with us was told by Jenny that I'm gay, got really excited. So I asked her if it was the first time that she'd met a gay person and she said it wasn't because she had gay cousins back home in the Philippines. But, she said, it was the first time she'd met a gay Indian. She was probably more excited by the idea that there are gay people in school. She was really sweet and gave me a hug. How sugary and nice! Not at all like the treatment a homo expects from people here.
A few days ago,
tatianastav, who lives in Israel, told me that she's going for a small concert of
Achinoam Nini. Because the concert was pretty small, she asked me if there was something I'd like to say to her since I love her music so much. So I typed out a note in English [Achinoam was brought up in New York and sings in English too] and Tatiana said she'd give it to Achinoam. Well, yesterday, Tatiana told me that she'd given the note to one of Achinoam's attendants and that the attendant was really excited to hear that the note was from a boy who lives in Dubai. Tatiana said that Achinoam hadn't read the note immediately, but said she was sure that she would.
Hey, maybe Achinoam's publicist will publicize this! :)
Methinks I need a massage.
