Blegh.
Insane things is happening in LJ land (read the comments). AGAIN. LJ has begun deleting (without warning as they are supposed to) users. These users are artists who posted some adult drawings of underage Harry Potter characters (or so I believe) and this seems to be the reason for their deletion.
I'm not in the HP fandom, but my main reason for posting about this is just LJ's utter disregard for THEIR OWN rules system. This is the second time in the last few months that they've taken unacceptable actions against members of fandom, without warning to the users and without any stated reason to LJ as a whole.
Do they not remember the absolute uproar when they did this in May? Do they not remember the grovelling and excuses they made back then? Do they not remember reinstating most of the journals that they deleted, making the chaos they'd created pointless? I mean, is this all because of those bloody Warriors for Innocence people, yet again? If LJ bothered to look at the context of certain fan art, they'd discover that it isn't child pornography and has no such connontations. Plus - FICTIONAL CHARACTERS, ANYONE???
Onto better subjects:
Attention Ten/Martha lovers, or just Martha lovers in general,
this author on FF.net has written dozens of Martha centric stories, that are just utterly brilliant, canonically realistic, humorous, and so so sweet. And not one of them uses Martha to show us just how awesomely inspiringly brilliant Ten/Rose is, so that's always a plus these days.
Also
fehrlybrendan has found
this brilliant picture of the entire Robin Hood cast and crew. The actors playing the Sheriff (is that his own baby he's holding?), Robin and Marian are at the front, Will, Djaq and Much behind them. Gordon (Little John) and Joe (Allan) are scattered in the crowd. Where's Richard (Guy) though? And LOL at the random extra at the back waving.
The rampant rumour that
James Nesbitt would be the Eleventh Doctor has been denied by Doctor Who writer Steven Moffatt (The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink). He recently wrote the Jekyll series that Nesbitt was in as well. Frankly, the reaction to the rumour was utterly despicable, the amount of people slating James Nesbitt and the insults were just appalling and I'm glad Steven defended him. I didn't see Jekyll but I saw the actor in Cold Feet and I thought he was so warm, funny and charming. He would've been a fine Doctor, if the rumour had been true.
I'm reading "Winter Solstice" by Rosamunde Pilcher. I'm undecided. I think I will read more of her novels, but I can't say this one is brilliant. It's very well written, the characters are interesting, but I find myself wanting deeper characterisations and a more compelling plot.
